Last Minute Birth Doula Support.

We understand that birth doesn’t always go according to plan and that sometimes the need for support arises unexpectedly. Our Durham and Chapel Hill, NC area doulas bring grounding presence, calm confidence, and skilled care to help you feel safe, seen, and empowered during your birth. While this service isn’t a substitute for full doula care and education throughout pregnancy, it can be a great solution when plans shift or time runs short!

Help! I’m looking for last minute doula support.

  • I’d love doula support, but have been unable to find full-service doula care available for my due date

  • I’m new to the Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh & surrounding area and haven’t had time to connect with a local doula yet

  • A friend, family member, or partner was planning to support me but can no longer attend my birth due to unforeseen circumstances such as travel issues or illness

  • I’m right at the end of my pregnancy or even in labor and realizing: "I don’t want to do this alone."

  • I am currently in labor and my support person needs a break/rest

Last Minute Doula Support.

Our last minute support services allow you to connect with one of our Dogwood Doula at the last minute, if one is available or able to provide support.

Our Last-Minute Support includes:

  • A brief virtual check-in so we can get to know you and understand your preferences

  • Up-to two weeks of on-call support, based on availability

  • In-person labor and birth support at your hospital or birth location and 1-2 hours of “golden hour” support post-delivery

  • The option to add a scheduled 1.5 hour postpartum visit at an additional fee

    Last-Minute Support Fees:

  • $800 base fee for 12 hours of labor support, $60/hr for each additional hour (max fee of $1500)

  • $100 Optional 1.5 hour postpartum visit after birth
